About

Background
Jonathan Axon has been playing guitar for over 30 years.

Originally a trombone player, Jonathan fell in love with the electric guitar in his early teens after discovering the music of Steve Vai and Iron Maiden, and bought his first guitar shortly afterwards.

With deep heavy rock/metal roots, Jonathan's musical journey quickly veered into progressive metal, progressive rock/neo-prog, fusion and other guitar-heavy genres.

Since 2019 Jonathan has been a full-time member of progressive rock band Genius The Fool, and has made guest appearances on tracks released by several other artists.

Jonathan holds a Distinction at Grade 8 in Rock and Pop Guitar from Trinity College London and a Distinction at Grade 5 Music Theory from the ABRSM.
