'Purple Rain' (Jack Thammarat cover of Prince) | Cover
A couple of months ago Jack Thammarat published an incredible instrumental cover of Prince's "Purple Rain" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_caCWJL4bk). I liked this so much that I decided to try and transcribe it. For any guitar players interested, my transcription can be found here: PDF: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1w32PBcwvBSzYWAxs6R9ZInfjlo2wxicp Guitar Pro 7: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1b7zIW7lIfFmpQCYyQ4EtV91XaXwQ4ebW This video is my attempt to play my own transcription, which doesn't really hold up against Jack's version but was awesome to learn and play nonetheless. Excuse the dodgy clothes and generally scruffy appearance - I wasn't intending to record but was in the mood so it just happened ...! Signal Chain ========== i) Suhr Modern Pro guitar (SSH+ bridge humbucker), to ii) Kemper Profiling Amp, via S/PDIF to iii) Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface, via USB to iv) Reaper DAW With the exception of the clean intro, the whole track was recorded using the Kemper profile "TJ-Pet2C JPLead" from Top Jimi's "Pet2C" profile pack, available to buy here: https://www.topjimi.com/Pet2C-Pack-PET2C-20170219.htm Only delay and reverb were tweaked from the profile defaults. Guitar volume knob was used to control gain throughout the track. I've been asked for my Paypal account so people can send me donations. I never expected this but am very grateful for any contributions you may wish to give; these can be sent via Paypal to jon_axon@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks!

'Solaris' - guitar solo (Moongarden) | Cover with tab and backing track
Back in 2008, Italian prog rock band "Moongarden" released the album "Songs from the Lighthouse", and the epic 13-minute song "Solaris" immediately stood out to me. In particular, I loved the dream-like 3-minute-long guitar solo section towards the end of the song, and always wanted to play it. 10 years later, I finally got round to transcribing it, and creating a backing track to play along to, and here is the final result. I imagine the band will be unknown to most of you, but I hope you enjoy the beautiful solo. For anyone who wants to play this themselves, in the following shared Google Drive location you will find my guitar transcription in PDF format, my entire backing track transcription in Guitar Pro 7 format, as well as an MP3 of the backing track itself: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nrBxnIL4zNd3OHT7VeQOe2s-_VViTH3d As well as transcribing for my own pleasure, I do also take-on paid transcription work - please send any enquiries to info@axon-music.co.uk. Signal Chain ========== i) Suhr S3 guitar (modified with Seymour Duncan Antiquity Texas Hot pickups) ii) Kemper Profiling Amp, via S/PDIF to iii) Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface, via USB to iv) Reaper DAW The lead guitar was recorded using a tweaked Bogner Ecstasy profile from Guido Bungenstock, with reverb and delay added through DAW plugins.

'In The End' (Jan Cyrka) | Cover
A cover of the beautiful piece "In The End" by Jan Cyrka - a rare example of a rock guitar instrumental that doesn't attempt to be "flashy", but rather is about control and feeling.
